Turkish apple cookie

This cookie is one of my sisters and mine favourite one. But for some reason we're not baking it a lot. A few days ago we were craving for it & i decided to share the recipe with you.

Ingredients:

for the dough

500 gr. margarine
1 egg
1 turkish tea cup of milk (about 100 ml)
1 turkish tea cup of sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
as much flour as needed

for the filling

1 turkish teas cup of chopped almonds (i used this time half the cup almonds & half the cup walnuts)
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 teasp. cinnamon
3-4 apples

First we will start with the filling. Peel & grate the apples. Cook it with the sugar & the almonds in a pot until the juice of the apples is almost gone. Then take it out of the oven & add the cinnamon to it. Set it aside to cool down.

Now we're making the dough. Mix the margarin, the egg, the milk & the sugar together. Add the vanilla sugar, the baking powder & the flour. Split the dought into 5 equal pieces, roll it out (about 1/4 inch) & cut it as you would cut a pizza.

Put a little bit of the filling at the corner & roll it. On a baking sheet bake it in the oven for about 20-25 minutes at 200° C ( about 400 degrees F). But always keep an eye on it because it could be different depending on your oven & your climat you live in. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
